The Swallows have had an excellent start to what is building to be an exciting year for the team. Following a productive preseason and some challenging trials, the Swallows team this year is made up of many new faces to the club who have smoothly joined the squad and proven their worth through some excellent performances. The team has not lost a single league match this term and are currently sitting at the top of Division 5.

Standout performances from the term include the match against Leicester 3s where the Swallows came back from 24-18 at half time to win 36-31. This match included stellar play from our midcourt players Ines Lefranc and Maddie Dalgleish and pinpoint shooting from vice-captain Kat Heylen. The final match of the year was against Lincoln 2s, the Swallows competition for the precious position at the top of the Division. With just 9 players and a team feeling the exhaustion of a long term, the Swallows were a little anxious for what would be a big game. However, there was little need for worry as the team smashed it out of the park for the final game, winning 46-38 and playing what could only be described as a beautiful game. Mia Barnes dominated the attack playing a full game at GA with Georgia Tooth holding the fort in the defensive circle. Michaelmas term has shown some really promising netball from the Swallows. The team is looking ahead for a chance at promotion as well as the all-important varsity game where the Swallows will be hungry for the win.
