Position: BUCS Netball Coach
Location: Cambridge
Engagement type: Self-Employed – Part-time
Sessions: 3 sessions per week (Monday 7-10pm, Friday 4-6pm, Sunday 8-10am). BUCS Matches happen on a Wednesday afternoon, and we would expect a coach to attend home matches where possible
Fee: £25-£30/hour (dependent on experience/qualifications)

About Us
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Netball Coach to lead and develop our Cambridge University Ladies’ Netball Club. We have around 50 students each year participating in CULNC across four teams, competing in BUCS each Wednesday and participating in cup matches throughout the season. A key highlight of the season is the annual Varsity Match, where we play against Oxford, which we have won the past three years. The position involves working with a diverse group of athletes, including those who are also a part of franchise NPL teams. Our aims for the upcoming season are to win Varsity next February and for our teams to either maintain or be promoted in their respective divisions in BUCS.
Job Description
In this role, you will be expected to design and deliver high-quality coaching sessions, foster skill development, fitness and improved performance across the season while ensuring a safe and inclusive training environment. Additionally, you will be involved in both team and captain selection at the start of the season.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and structured netball training sessions for students of varying skill levels for three training sessions a week, each spanning from 2-3 hours.

Develop individual and team performance strategies, including technical, tactical, and physical conditioning, ensuring players reach their full potential.

Analyse game/performance data and adjust coaching strategies accordingly.

Prepare students for BUCS fixtures, Varsity and other relevant events.

Provide mentorship and motivation to students, fostering a positive and disciplined training culture.

Work closely with the club captain and other coaches to determine match and team selection.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including risk assessments and injury prevention measures.

Uphold health and safety, safeguarding and inclusivity standards, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.
Person Specification/Qualifications:

At least level 2 coaching qualification or higher.

Significant coaching/playing experience

Strong communication, motivational and leadership skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a coaching team
