The Blues have had an intense but enjoyable start to the season. With a huge seven league matches and one cup match in Michaelmas Term, we knew it was going to be a tiring one! I’m immensely proud to say that we finished the term in 3rd place in Midlands Division 1. As a relatively new team, our confidence grew as combinations began to gel and we realised that we are able to compete and challenge highly established teams. We were able to see how much we had improved in a matter of months when we played Loughborough 2s for a 2nd time and led for most of the match, only being pipped to the post right at the end. A particular highlight of the term included a victory over Oxford in an extremely intense match – a first for the Blues in over five years! We’re super excited for next term where we will be playing Oxford, Loughborough 3s and Birmingham 2s in BUCS, followed by our Varsity Match where we look to secure victory for the Light Blues for the first time in a few years! I’m really looking forward to seeing/meeting lots of you on 14th January and 26th February.
