Cambridge University Ladies Netball Club (CULNC) are excited to announce a new partnership with London Pulse aimed at their pathway athletes to promote the benefits of a dual high performance higher education and sport career path.
This partnership will kick off with a competitive match day event hosted by CULNC in October 2022 for the Pulse U17 pathway athletes. This day will combine matchplay with the opportunity for London Pulse’s young athletes to experience Cambridge with a tour and talk at Gonville and Caius College and a Q&A with existing CULNC student members.
London Pulse will provide CULNC with access to its Educate Train Inspire programme covering areas such as nutrition, mental health, recovery and sport and the menstrual cycle. CULNC will also give an ETI talk to the Pulse Pathway covering their experiences of applying to Cambridge and Cambridge University life. CULNC will also benefit from a London Pulse Matchday discount.
The Club’s President Alexandra Telford commented, “We are really excited for this new partnership with London Pulse, a club whose values of championing and empowering women in sport align with our own. We’re looking forward to learning from the London Pulse’s expertise and culture, as well as showing their young athletes that achieving sporting goals and education at one of the most prestigious universities in the world can, and do, go together.”
London Pulse CEO and Head Coach Sam Bird had this to say about the partnership, “We are delighted to be working with CULNC to promote the many benefits of combining a high performance sport path with the very best education. Too often athletes feel they have to choose between their sport and their education and this just shouldn’t happen. The ability to achieve a top class degree alongside playing the sport you love should be something all of our athletes can aspire to.”
